Not of This World
The Outer Blade is a relic of a world not our own, and it's nature reflects it's alien origin. Whenever you finish a long rest, roll 1d4-1. The Outer Blade becomes a +X weapon until a long rest is completed again, where X is the result. If it remains a +3 weapon for a week, it becomes one permanently.
The Outer Blade cannot be identified, is immune to all scrying, and cannot be detected (seen, divined, predicted etc.) by Gods. Any attempt to use magic to reveal anything about The Outer Blade results in the caster taking Xd6 damage, where X is the current modifier for the blade.
The Outer Blade does Psychic damage in place of slashing damage.
The wielder cannot be attuned to any other weapons while they are attuned to The Outer Blade, and they attune to The Outer Blade immediately when they first acquire it.
While attuned to The Outer Blade, you can neither send or receive messages via telepathy, and you are incapable of understanding or communicating in Celestial.
Nullifidian's Scorn
The Broker promises this weapon had the ability to wound - or perhaps even kill - a God. Additional research will be required to reveal if his claims are true.
The Sight
While wielding The Outer Blade, the wielder can use an action to cast the Etherealness spell, targeting only yourself, without consuming a spell slot or having the spell prepared. when you do so, you enter a random Outer Plane instead of the Border Ethereal. Your next attack - which returns you to the Material Plane - will have a different effect based on the Outer Plane you entered. Denizens on the Plane are able to notice your presence and act as they normally would. The DM has the list of Planes. Once you use this ability, you cannot use it again until you complete a long rest. You can however spend a 4th level spell slot to subvert this delay.
