A diary/research log created by [[Vistrum]]. The book is damaged in many places - it appears partially burnt. These are the only entries able to be made out that Vistrum has made charting his progress. 

=== First Entry ===
The well works. His words rang true. I thought it impossible at first - a lost art from a lost world - but here it sits in front of me. I cannot spend too long in it's presence - I feel as though something is calling me from within it. Those fools were mad thinking excommunication would be a sufficient deterrent to stop me from undertaking this great work. 

=== Second Entry ===
My creations are disgusting. They hobble around, speaking in tongues I am convinved do not exist, falling over themselves constantly. I drop a full corpse in the well and a misshapen creature with 3 legs and 2 heads crawls out. They are obedient at least, but who has need for obedience if it comes from the inept?

The voices from the well seem to get louder with every experiment. I wonder what dwells in there?

=== Third Entry ===
I see things crawling around at night. Shadows made solid, slinking in and out of the darkness afforded by this miserable tower. The rat returned today, still seeking knowledge on the necromancy that keeps him alive. Is he running from a demon he promised his soul to? Or perhaps something more insidious? I do not know, but I have locked him in the dungeon for now - he may prove a useful test subject if nothing else. Still, the evil I sense when around him unsettles even me...

=== Fourth Entry ===
I have decided what must be done. The rat is useless - his power comes from demonic tutelage, not the ancient wisdom I seek. The well does not speak to me anymore, it screams. The voices tantalise me with knowledge of the arcane and the forbidden. I can resist no longer. Tonight, I will dive into the pool. Perhaps I will survive to tell Tredigar what becomes of me. Perhaps he can put it to some use.
