[[File:Wellllll.png|alt=|frame]]A Well of Souls is generally understood as a natural or artificial portal between the Material Plane and [[the Fade]]. There is some evidence that all souls that pass to the Fade at the moment of death pass through a Well in one way or another, although there is scholarly disagreement about this, as well as the proposed mechanism(s) by which this occurs. 

== Notable Wells ==
The Well in the Village of [[Gorhart]], created by [[Vistrum Blackstone]]. 

The Well in the [[Plains of Odarth]], where the [[Orb Walkers]] first met [[Yestris]]. 

The Well in [[Etinmere]], where [[the Orb Walkers]] entered the Fade to stop Vistrum once and for all.

The Well beneath [[Glendara]], where the Orb Walkers battled [[Akordia]], (possibly) the [[Reaper of the Grim]] and (possibly) Yestris. 

== Other Wells ==
In [[Ghurrix]]'s final speech to the Orb Walkers, he alluded to another "Gaping Maw" in his original home, and said that he used to guard it.
