Fionn Swiftbraid is a Human who was an important part of The Orb Walkers before he retired to be a family man. He is most known for being instrumental in defeating Darvissa at Klurikon and helping install Lazav as head of House Dimir.

Early Life

Fionn's birthplace is unknown. He was adopted by Chianul Swiftbraid , a Retired Octienne of the Templar Order and raised in Tala Rane. As a Human in Tala Rane with no magical ability he was looked down upon and bullied by his peers. As a result of this Fionn grew a hatred for the city and decided to leave on his 18th birthday. He became a mercenary for hire and wandered Amalur before becoming a hireling of the Council of Rathir.

This brought him to Mel Shenshir. Whilst in Mel Shenshir he was hired for a job to retrieve a chest stolen from whom he believed to be House Dimir. He set off with a party of Tieflings ; Reverence a bard , Kalista a Sorcerer , Xlbalba a Warlock and Ratt a Rogue. After following some clues they eventually found a hideout of the Cult of Rakdos where they interrupted a ritual. Ratt being pissed off that he was tricked into a much more dangerous mission than he bargained for opened the chest. Inside was an Obsidian orb.

After this revelation Fionn returned to Rathir to tell the council of what he found. Also at this time The Orb Walkers had emerged from The Fade after not having been heard from for months. They came to Rathir to inform the council of the closing of the Etinmere Well. The Council wanted to send them to Mel Shenshir to deal with the perceived threat and the fact an Obsidian Orb was found there, The Orb Walkers accepted and Fionn was sent with them as the council's agent.

The party made it to Mel Shenshir after a close encounter with an Aboleth went to seek out their contact Yorick Stone. He told them that the Rakdos and the Dimir seemed to be working together and using the Obsidian Orbs for something. The party spent a lot of time hunting down leads in search of Darvissa until they eventually tracked her down to the ancient abandoned city of Klurikon. Here they met up with a band of Warsworn lead by Varrick. Whilst in Klurikon the party retrieved an ingot of Star metal that they agreed to have Gerburgh, the Quartermaster of the Warsworn at Klurikon, make this into a rapier for him. This would be Acanthophis which was engraved by the suspected Fae, Riffok.
