Background

Kydomos is a young, black Tiefling who has spent his recent years in Providence. After growing up by the wall, Kydomos moved South in search of greater prospects. He met his wife in Providence, and after a few short years together, he lost both her and his baby daughter after they were murdered by followers of Erebos. Torn by his grief, Kydomos vowed to avenge his slain wife and daughter, and made a pact with a Demon in exchange for his current powers. Currently, Kydomos is still in search of those who murdered his family, and learning more about the followers of Erebos.

Kydomos also met with Ariza and became friends with her after doing a few jobs together in Providence. They were introduced to each other via Ashan Aqan, and quickly realised they made an excellent team. After many successful operations together, they were sent towards the Sunvar Estate where they met Emren and the remainder of the party.

Time with the Party

Intro to the group

Kydomos and Ariza met the group via a job provided by Ashan Aqan. Ashan notified Kydomos of the potential presence of Erebos cultists at the Sunvar Estate. He and Ariza met Emren by the gates of Providence, and together they set off for the estate. Along the way, they found Qweny’x in a forest. After arriving at the estate and defeating the Erebos cultists, the party was complete with the rescue of Solomon who was almost sacrificed to the God of Death.

Sunvar Estate + The Red Sacrament

Arriving at the Sunvar Estate, Kydomos fought and defeated the Erebos cultists with the assistance of the others. With his rage reinvigorated after seeing the garments with symbols of the God of Death, Kydomos spent only a brief time questioning the remaining, bloodied survivor. After realising they did not speak the same language, Kydomos murdered him by smashing his skull to pulp with a rock. The decapitated corpse was placed on the altar to gain entry into the Sunvar Estate.

After exploring inside the estate and finding some interesting scrolls (still unknown), Kydomos and the party entered the Sunvar crypt. Among the rows of coffins, an old skeleton was pacing up and down. Threatened by his presence, Kydomos fired an Eldritch blast at the skeleton which shattered, and after collecting the skull, realised it was an emissary for the Sunvars - Charlip Sunvar the Third.

The party explored onwards, and came across another group within the estate who did not seem to be associated with the followers of Erebos. Another battle ensued, and Kydomos and the party defeated the members. An elemental appeared, displaying its disappointment after seeing the recently killed worshippers. It fired a bolt of lightning at Charlip, blasting him back into the throne room.

Kydomos stripped the armour off the man who seemed to be their leader. With the assistance of his summoned Unseen Servant, they carried the armour out of the estate as it began to shake and collapse. Inspecting the armour, Emren sense a dark magic within. Although Emren and the others advised Kydomos to not take or wear the armour, he hid it behind some bushes. After arriving back in Providence, Kydomos paid Ashan to hire some men to retrieve the armour and bring it to his home.

A week later, the armour was delivered to Kydomos who equipped it immediately. He sensed an immense power within, and passed out in his home briefly. He later discovered the armour shifted and changed to suit him. When placing his hand in a fire, the armour shifted, protecting his arm from the flames. When he slept, it changed again into more comfortable clothing. However, Kydomos realised he was unable to remove the armour, and has been wearing it ever since.

First Heist

Although Kydomos agreed to steal the gems from the caravan being transported with the party, he refused to kill anyone unless he deemed it absolutely necessary. When the party came across the caravan and its escort, Kydomos refused to harm any of them – believing their greed was not a justifiable reason to hurt or kill anyone. Despite a goliath attacking the party and almost defeating some members, Kydomos still refused to help – and only teleported onto the moving caravan as it was leaving.

The party was displeased with Kydomos’ actions and his apathy, and warned him of the consequences if he declined to act in dangerous situations again.

Underground Desert – Brightbreak

Since the party complained of Kydomos not helping enough, when they saw a hammer on a plinth in the centre of the underground (temple?), Kydomos decided to expedite the process by instantly picking it up. This summoned a sand elemental who the party struggled with for a while, before Charlip suggested throwing the hammer at the elemental. It was then that Kydomos and the others learnt of Brightbreak and it’s abilities. Delving deeper, the party discovered the crypt was moving, with the paths and doorways constantly moving.
