World Timeline

This is an approximate timeline of events that have occured during the history of the Material Plane.

Duration of an Age

The length of an age is 3000 years – this was agreed upon after the fact and has the support of Rathir, Mel Shenshir, Tala Rane, Derem and basically all the smaller elements of civilization. The duration was chosen to be easy to work with and have no bias towards any party.

The First Age

35 - Ka-al of Westwoo d (the Prophetam Primus) enlightened the world to the existence of Fate.
1293 - The city of Mel Shenshir is founded by immigrants from Klurikon.
1523 - The city that will one day be called Rathir is founded by the original five families.
1912 - The direct precursor to the Templar Order (the Arcane Divinity) is founded.
1912 - Alain Brightsword founds the Arcane Divinity – the precursor to the Templar Order.
2009 - Sar of the small marsh carries the word of the Pantheon of the Gods. Many prophets follow.
2056 - Alain Brightsword dies.
2058 - Order Veracious is formed.

The Second Age

230 - Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind establishes the guild system of Mel Shenshir.
517 - The Templar Order adopts its modern name and founds the city of Tala Rane after political issues with Rathir.
517 - Daran Brightsword founds the city of Tala Rane.
549 - Xenagos, God of Revels is defeated by Elspeth (different one to Tirel) and a band of heroes.
2090 - The city of Rathir undergoes a revolution – the new government comprises the original founders, the military, and the public.
2550 - The First War between Tala Rane and Rathir – Mel Shenshir assists Rathir in resources from the outset but does not join the conflict directly until 2552.
2550 - Elspeth Tirel leads Rathir in the First War in the name of Heliod.
2601 - The Second War between Rathir/Tala Rane and Mel Shenshir – the alliance of the west prevents Mel Shenshir from founding a new settlement on the west of Drianna’s vein.
2733 - The Third War between Rathir and Mel Shenshir. Tala Rane mostly remains neutral, with minor assistance to Rathir.

The Third Age

844 - Ka’vak the Fearless leads an army of Orcs and castoffs off into the desert to seek the Sidhe.
2831 - Last known sighting of the Demon Lord Rakdos.

The Fourth Age

2301 - Riker Lox purges necromancy from Rathir.
2316 - Barren Lightbearer is elected Prefect Maximus of the Templar Order.
2515 October - The Orb Walkers first meet in the village of Gorhart.
2515 December - The Orb Walkers enter the Fade.
2516 June - The Well of Souls in Etinmere is closed by a group of brave adventurers.
2516 July - The city of Mel Shenshir was almost destroyed by a meteor storm, being saved only by the quick action of the Izzet League.
2516 November 13^th - Thoradin Clearsight is promoted to Octienne, Valmet Blessedborn joins The Orb Walkers.
2516 November 20^th - The Orb Walkers are teleported back to Glendara by Rax, a court Wizard of Rathir.
2516 November 22^nd - The Orb Walkers battle Akordia, The Reaper of the Grim and Yestris in the Fade. Ozanna dies.
2516 December 14^th - The Orb Walkers return from the Fade.
2517 January 1^st - Ghurrix kills thousands in Tala Rane in an act of evil ordered by the Scarlet King. He is then defeated by The Orb Walkers but lives on elsewhere. The Pantheon of Gods discusses how to respond.
2517 January 5^th - The Orb Walkers defeat Barren Lightbearer in the Fortalice of Old.
2517 January 19^th - Tredigar Hackshield is elected Prefect Maximus and Samuel Truestone takes his place as Prefect of Magic.
2517 March 16^th - Rhogar and Valmet meet Ezra Astrophel and embark on a pilgrimage to the Exolvuntur monastery in Driana’s Tear. Rhogar becomes an Oath of the Watchers Paladin. The three slay Gwindor, Daughter of Gurthang, Son of Glaurang.
2517 September - Tilrinel returns from his compelled duel and begins spreading the word of Zinimar with increased zeal.
2518 May 13^th - The Orb Walkers meet Rydol in Mel Shenshir and depart for the Sidhe to testify in the trial of Yestris.
2518 May 28^th - Valmet compels Athreos to banish the Necronomicon page and Alhazred’s Ruin from this world.
2518 May 29^th - The Orb Walkers arrive in Neutral Ground for the trial.
